Batting Order

This year we r having a hard time setting up the batting order...................please leave ur suggestions by clicking on the 'Comment' box below each topic...............u can leave ur name if u want or else choose 'Anonymous' if u dont want others to know..........ur views will be taken into consideration...........plz give brief explaination (2-3 lines) regarding ur batting order line up
This is what I think the batting order should be:

  1. Dhami
  2. Akash
  3. Jasdeep
  4. Rosy (Vc)
  5. Jagan (C)
  6. Robby(Wk)
  7. Aman
  8. Zarhan
  9. Sunny D
  10. Dev
  11. Ronnie
  12. Nouman
  13. Harry

Moreover selection should be based on 'performances' so that players like Nouman and Harry also get a chance to prove themselves.......according to me and last year's stats, they have proved that they deserve a place in the first 11 but I know for the first few matches they will have to wait.....but the question is for 'how long'.......

Performance based team will have to be managed by the Captain, vice-capt., and the selector. plz leave ur reviews on this topic too if possible.......the team needs support from all of its players.......thanks

I agree with this batting order except with a couple of names, too high up the oder. I would suggest we need to look at our strengths and weaknesses, then imply them properly so it would be beneficial to the team. I don't think Rosy should be batting in top 5 the reason being - He is a good hitter of the ball, we need someone like this at the end of the innings where someone can score 30-40 odd runs in last few overs. If I am correct last year we struggled in the middle over since our middle order just collapsed everytime there was pressure on them. I think we need our best batsman at No 3, which I think is Jasdeep. I think Robby needs to be No 5 since he dictate the innings and the tempo. He is a good runner between the wicket and has an ability to hit big shots. Jagan, needs to bat when there is less pressure on him, it takes time for him to settle down thus he would be best at No. 4. At last No 6 I think this is another important position since we need someone who can gel with the tale. I would vote Nouman for this spot because he demonstrated last year that he can play at this position. He has saved Predators last year on a couple of occasion ( vs. Blackhacks and United). He is young and can run singles very quick.

My preference with batting order would be :

1) Dhami
2) Akash
3) Jasdeep
4) Jagan
5) Robby
6) Nouman
7) Rosi
8) Aman
9) Sunny
10) Dev
11) Roni
12) Zahran
13) Harjinder

In addition, Akash needs to perform and if he is not doing the job up the order he should be demoted to number 8. Since, he is also a good hitter of the ball and can score runs quickly. Rosi, should replace Akash at the top because we need to advantage of the first 15 overs. Last year, Zulfi did a good job when it came to flyers and we will require the same.

Moreover, we need to utilize Aman and Sunny better as compare to last year. Aman, needs to know what role he is playing because last year a rumour started that he can play spinners good. This deteriorated his game when it came to batting. He is a clean hitter of the ball and he can hit any type of bowler. I 've seen him hit big and clean shots against fast bowlers in this leaguse. I am sorry to say anybody can play spinner since we don't have any genuine spinners in this league who turn the ball substantially. I think Aman and Sunny would compliment the lower oder very well because Sunny can rotate the strike and hit big shots when required. They would both compliment eachother very well.

Now the bowlers, since Zulfi is not playing for Predators this year. Middle overs will be very crictical and nobody in Predators get the bounce from good length ball.

1)Roni
2)Sunny
3)Aman
4)Dev
5)Rosi
6)Akash

Everyone, we argue why bring Dev so late the reason for that is Dev has pace and swing which is a must in the middle overs if we need to succeed this year. I think we can look at swapping Aman and Sunny both of them can swing the ball and been good with a new ball. My reason for bringing Aman with the new ball is cuz he does not have any variation or pace. He heavily relies on his swing, which gets him a wicket or two.

PREDATORS ONLY LOOK GOOD ON PAPER NEVER ON THE FIELD. IF DEV DOESN'T PERFORM WITH THE BALL, IT WILL BE HARD FOR THEM TO WIN THE NOLAN CUP AGAIN.

BATTING ORDER AS FOLLOWS:

Dhami (Strong off the pads)
Akash (Needs to be more patient)
Jasdeep (Mr. Perfect)
Jagan (Too Hasty - need to stay calm)
Robby (Great Mind)
Nouman (Quick learner)
Aman (Not consistent at all - can hit big shots)
N.Sidhu (Slogger - Can get quick runs and needs to improve on his running between the wicket)
Sunny (Knows his limitations)
Dev (Good hitter of the ball - but last year was dissappointing)
Ronnie (Perfect No 11)

My first question to Predators is : Who is the captain of this team ? Too me, it seems like Dev calls the shots on the field and Jagan is just a spectator. I would appreciate, if you guys could answer the question above.

Thanks in advance.

This is a very good question,
First of all, Jagan needs to realize that he's the captain of the team and he should be the one taking decisions on field.

Last year Dev used to change the field without even asking the bowler, he has to be patient about it. He's the best bowler in the league and there's no doubt about it and he knows how to bowl according to his field but some of the bowlers are not that accurate. Dev bhai please don't take this as an offence, this is just a request.
Jagan should realize that he's the captain of the team, and taking Dev's suggestions is not a problem but implying on them instantly without asking other senior members is something that he needs to look into.

sunny needs to focus more on his own game then others, jasdeep is too slow for one day game and also a slow mover in the field and jagan is a great captain only person capable of captining a team like predators which has too many stars

jasdeep should be the keeper so hat u guys have a good spinner

Hey Guys,

Lets stop criticising eachother here. We asked for the inputs on how we should tackle the challenges we are going to face.Instead, we are discussing who is garbage and what Jagan should do . Lets keep this forum friendly and let us enjoy.
